BREAKFAST MENU - EGG BENEDICT


Have you tasted egg benedict before??? or heard about it??? Well it's a popular breakfast or brunch menu for the western. Eggs Benedict is a dish that consists of two halves of an English muffin, topped with ham or bacon, poached eggs and Hollandaise sauce.

For a heavier meal, eggs Benedict are often served with roast potatoes or homemade fries. and salad.
  
To prepare eggs Benedict, you may find yourself having to contend with several things at once, as most of the ingredients only take a few minutes to prepare. It will take quite a bit of skill and expertise, but with a little practice or an extra pair of hands, you will soon be making eggs Benedict like a true professional.

To start with, it is best to prepare the Hollandaise sauce, as this can easily be heated up and stirred quickly when needed.

Next, the eggs can be poached for a few minutes in simmering water. While the eggs are cooking, the bacon can be grilled or fried for a few minutes and whilst all this is happening, you should have time to pop the muffins into the toaster or under the grill to toast them.

Here's how to make a perfect egg benedict - learn the technique of poaching your eggs first, it's important that you get a nice poached eggs. 


Bring a deep saucepan of water to the boil (at least 2 litres) and add the vinegar. Break the eggs into 4 separate coffee cups or ramekins. Split the muffins, toast them and warm some plates.

Swirl the vinegared water briskly to form a vortex and slide in an egg. It will curl round and set to a neat round shape. Cook for 2-3 mins, then remove with a slotted spoon.

Repeat with the other eggs, one at a time, re-swirling the water as you slide in the eggs. 

Spread some sauce on each muffin, scrunch a slice of ham on top, then top with an egg. 

Spoon over the remaining hollandaise and serve at once.

For the Hollandaise Sauce
4 egg yolks
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (1 stick)
Pinch cayenne
Pinch salt

Directions
Vigorously whisk the egg yolks and lemon juice together in a stainless steel bowl and until the mixture is thickened and doubled in volume. Place the bowl over a saucepan containing barely simmering water (or use a double boiler,) the water should not touch the bottom of the bowl. Continue to whisk rapidly. Be careful not to let the eggs get too hot or they will scramble. Slowly drizzle in the melted butter and continue to whisk until the sauce is thickened and doubled in volume. Remove from heat, whisk in cayenne and salt. Cover and place in a warm spot until ready to use for the eggs benedict. If the sauce gets too thick, whisk in a few drops of warm water before serving.



Simple and yummy...look at the Hollandaise sauce...it was fantastic.

Hari ini kita breakfast cara OM Putih pula..kita buat Egg Bendict. Egg bendict ini cukup terkenal dikalangan masyarkat barat sebagai breakfast atau brunch mereka. Paling penting membuat egg benedict ini ialah telurnya mesti kena masak dengan cantik..saya sudah jelaskan teknik membuat telurnya diatas. Air masak jangan terlalu mendidih dimasukkan cuka dan dipusar-pusarkan airnya lalu dimasukkan telur. Dengan cara ini telur akan masak mengikut putaran air dan menjadi cantik.


Kedua egg benedict ini dimakan bersama Hollandaise Sauce...sauce ini mudah aje membuat dengan menggunakan cara double boiler, telur kuning dipukul sehingga bertukar warna dan masukkan butter dan garam kacau sehingga anda mendapatkan kepekatan yang diingini. Kalau Mat Saleh tu dia orang taruk wine...kita taruk lemon jus sedikit pun sedap.


Ketiga egg benedict ini dimakan bersama English muffin...roti yang kita makan breakfast di McD, roti tulah tapi saya guna roti burger aje...mana nak cari english muffin takkan McD nak jual kat kita muffinnya, Itu adalah tiga perkara penting membuat Egg Benedict, yang lain bergantung pada citarasa masing-masing..boleh juga hidang bersama french fires atau pun salad. Lengkap menu sarapan pagi yang berkhasiat. - SELAMAT MENCUBA

Dah nak tengahari baru dapat menyinggah kesini...dapo wajib singgah tuk cek pepagi hari..suka tgk bekpas menu yg kak paty masak...untungnya anak2 akak kan...bermacam menu yg disajikan...selalu dengo dan tengok menu egg benedict ni...tak penah buat pun...kalau tak penah buat ...maknanya tak penah makan...alahai jakun tul cek ni...kechur tgk gambo jelah nampaknya...he he...:)
