SAMBAL BILIS PETAI



This is another irresistible dish ....no matter how you knew that the "after ate" effect to your breath you still go for it ha..... Well how could anyone resist such temptation. This sambal ikan bilis petai goes well with Masak Lemak!!! it really makes one's day. You just need to stand by with some mint flavor candy or sweet to encounter the "stink" issue.

INGREDIENTS
1 cup petai (skinned and split)
10o gm anchovies (rinse and dry)
1 onion cut into rings
1 ladle cooking oil

For the Sambal
30 dried chilies soaked
7 shallots (sliced finely)
1" shrimp paste

Grind all ingredients into wet paste

Seasoning:
salt
sugar
1/2 tbsp tamarind paste (mix with 150ml warm water)

Methods:
  1. Heat up oil and saute the chili paste till brown and fragrant.
    Add in anchovies. Continue stirring until aromatic.Put in Petai. Stir to mix well with other ingredients.
  2. Pour in tamarind juice and simmer until the gravy becomes thick.
  3. Add in slice onions
  4. Season with salt and sugar.
  5. Serve hot with rice.

Sambal Tumis Petai Ikan Bilis...walaupun berpuasa, walaupun mengeluarkan bau yang kuat tetap menjadi pojaan sebagai juadah berbuka. Siapa yang boleh menolaknya, cukup sedap kalau di gukan dengan masak lemak. Lagi satu kombinasi yang mantap.
