SAMBAL TANAK CABE IJO

This sambal tanak originated from Indonesia. It's a famous Padang  green chilli condiment. You can make it plain or add in other ingredients. The best sambal tanak that I had tasted was at Nasi Padang International in Penang. Really nice. I learned to make this sambal tanak from my maid. It's easy and I can tell you it could be addictive, satisfying and really delicious. Here's how I made my sambal tanak
INGREDIENTS
15 green chilies/ 15 cili hijau
15 bird's eyes chilies / 15 cili padi
2 onion/ 2 biji bawang besar

Pound all ingredients using mortal, not to fine / Tumbuk semua bahan dan jangan terlalus halus

1 tempe cut into cube and deep fry / 1 tempe potong dadu dan goreng garam kunyit
1 tahu deep fry and cut into cube / 1 tahu goreng dan potong dadu
100 g anchovies - deep fry / 100 g ikan bilis digoreng dahulu
100 g stink beans - peeled / 100 g petai dikopek kulitnya
100 g mini egg plants crushed / 100 g terung pipit dititik
salts to tast / garam secukup rasa
1/2 tsp chicken cube / 1/2 sdt cube ayam
2 tbsp oil / 2 sdb minyak

Heat up oil and saute the green chili paste till fragrant. Add in salts and chicken cube. Let it dry a bit and finally add in all other ingredient. Stir to ensure that ingredient coated with green chilies.

Ini adalah salah satu masakan Padang yang paling saya suka. Cukup mantap dan menyelerakan. Malan begitu aje dengan nasi udah cukup tak perlu lauk lain sedap bangat. Resipinya mudah dan ringas.
