MASALODEH KACANG PEAS/GREEN PEAS MASALODEH

You have tried dhal masalodeh, you have also tried tapioca masalodeh, but have you ever try green peas masalodeh?????.To be frank it is as good as dhal masalodeh. I first encountered it in JW Marriot, Egypt. It was my breakfast menu for two weeks. I was there on HR World Conference and this cake became my breakfast menu. I took this cake, fresh dates, Egyptian bread and omelette that covered my half session until they served lunch. It's crunchy, tasty and creamy. I managed to ask the chef the ingredients of this cake. Well he told me the main ingredient was green peas, processes and mix with onion, green chilies and deep fry. When he explained, I easily figured out it resembled masalodeh. The moment I reached home I tested it in my kitchen. I don't have the exact recipe, but my trial and error worked and here I would like to share the recipe with you.This cake serves best with tartar cream and best while it is hot. Also perfect with roti pita or any bread.


Green Peas Masalodeh

INGREDIENTS
5 cups frozen green peas - process/5 cawan kacang hijau frozen di proses
1 large onion - chopped / 1 biji bawang besar dicincang
1 strand coriander leave chopped / 1 tangkai daun ketumbar cincang
3 green chilies - chopped / 3 biji cili hijau dihiris halus
5 bird's eye chilies slice thinly/ 5 biji cili padi dihiris halus
2 tsp cumin seed / 2 sdt jintan putih
salts to taste / garam secukup rasa
oil for deep frying / minyak untuk menggoreng

PREPARATION


Process the green peas using food
processor. - Avoid using water. Add in all other
 ingredients except oil./ Guna food processor
untuk hancurkan kacang peas. Masukkan semua
bahan lain kecuali minyak. Gaul rata.

Mix well and form into round shape and
flatten it ./ Bentukkan seperti membuat
masalodeh


Heat up oil and deep fry till brown. Serve with
tartar sauce. / Goreng cara deep fry hingga
kekuningan

Anda telah mencuba dhal masalodeh, anda telah mencuba ubi kayu masalodeh, tapi pernahkan anda mencuba  kacang peas masalodeh????. mungkin ini sesuatu yang baru, tetapi ia adalah sejenis hidangan yang dihidang oleh masyarakat Mesir. Saya pertama kali mencubanya ketika berada di Mesir waktu menghadiri Persidangan Dunia mengenai Sumber Manusia. Kuih inilah merupakan menu sarapan pagi saya sepanjang 2 minggu di JW Marriot. Entah kenapa saya tertarik sangat dengat kuih ini?, mungkin keranggupan, kelemakan dan rasanya yang enak.  Berkesempatan menebual chefnya, untuk mendapatkan ramuan kuih ini.


Walaupun tidak mendapat resipinya tetapi dengan kata bual chef saya dapat menggagak, kuih ini banyak persamaan dengan masalodeh. Dari situ saya pulang dan olahkan semula kuih ini, maka jadilah Masalodeh Kacang Peas. Sedap dimakan panas-panas dan sedap dimakan bersama sos tartar. Kepada yang ingin kelainan, anda boleh olahkan semula menjadi resipi anda. SELAMAT MENCUBA.
