SPINACH WITH SALTED EGG /BAYAM TELUR ASIN





I love anything with spinach. Tired of the normal stir fried and soup I blog walking and found this recipe from Christine's Recipe Blog. According to Christine this is traditional Chinese recipe widely used of salted eggs and spinach in order to create a combination of silver-like and golden colours mingled with jade-like spinach.  


A very simple recipe made of only two ingredients, the spinach and the salted eggs. I changed the stir fry method, instead I blanched the spinach and top with salted egg. Simple, cheap yet healthy menu. If you like you can sprinkle some roasted garlic or caramlised shallot. Perghh..... fantastic just eat with a bowl of hot rice.... you won't be looking for any side dish. Try this, I bet spinach fans will definitely love this except Popeye.....



INGREDIENTS

500 gm spinach / 500 gm bayam atau 1 ikat
1 salted egg, white and yolk separated / 1 biji telur masin
PREPARATION
  1. Rinse spinach and drain well. Separate stems and leaves. Blannced for 5 minutes. Set aside./ Basuh bayan bersih-bersih. Asingkan batang dengan daun. celurkan batang dahuli kemudian daun. Angkat, tos dan letak sebelah.
  2. Use a wok or a steamer, steam salted egg  over medium-high heat for about 10 to 12 minutes. Set aside. / Dalam periuk yang lain rebus telur masin atau pun kukus telur masin.
  3. Arranged spinach on serving plate. Cut salted egg into small pieces. Sprinkle over spinach. Served hot./ Aturkan bayam yang dicelur tadi atas pinggan hidangan, potong telur masin kecil-kecil dan taburkan ke atas bayam tadi. Siap dimakan bersama nasi panas.

Saya amat mengemari sayur bayam, apa sahaja makanan yang bersangkutan dengan bayam memang akan menjadi kegemaran saya. Bosan dengan cara menumis dan merebus biasa saya jalan-jalan blogging mencari satu kelainan. Resipi dari Christine Recipe Blog memang mencuri perhatian saya, lalu mencuba. Memang sedap. Resipi ini adalah resipi tradisi masyarakat Cina tetapi sesuatu yang baru buat saya. Ternyata sedap, mudah, murah dan yang lebih penting berkhasiat. kepada yang ingin kelainan dari masakan bayam biasa cubalah resipi ini, anda pasti menyukainya.

Adoiii, I'm trying to cut on my carbo intake but looking at this page... tak taula boleh tahan ker tak.. depressingly yummy...

Resipi good wHat.... except for the salted eggs. There's no oil involved, I changed the method from stir fry to blanching. Don't worry it's healthy just reduce the amount of salted eggs.
