BEEF FRENCH TOAST

I first had it in one of a cafe in Penang. It's delicious, it's a "french toast" with filling. I made a try at home and the children love it.



Beef French Toast
INGREDIENTS
For The Bread
1 loaf bread/ 1 bantal roti - I used gardenia
4 eggs/ 4 biji telor
1 tsp salts/ 1 sdt garam
1 tsp pepper/ 1 sdt lada sulah
1 cup milk/ 1 cawan susu
Butter for frying bread/ Mentega untuk menggoreng roti
For the Filling
1 packet minced beef/chicken (Ramlee's or Ayamas)/ 1 paket daging kisar
2 potato - cut into small cube/ 2 biji kentang potong dadu.
1 carrot - shred/ 1 carrot parut
1/2 cup green peas / 1/2 cawan kacang peas
5 garlics - pounded or blend/ 5 ulas bawang putih ditumbuk
1 inch ginger pounded or blend/ 1 inch halia ditumbuk
2 onions - dice into cube/ 2 biji bawang besar dicincang
1/2 tsp - white cumin powder - (optional)/ 1/2 sdt serbuk jintan putih
1/2 tsp - fennel powder - (optional)/ 1/2 sdt serbuk jintan manis
1/2 tsp paprika/ 1/2 sdt serbuk paprika
salts and pepper/ garam dan lada sulah
2 tbs butter for sauteing/  2sdb mentega untuk menumis.

  1. Marinate beef/chicken with blended garlics and ginger. Add cumin powder, paprika, aniseed powder, pepper and salt . Put aside for an hour. Begin with sauteing onions and potatoes. Add in the marinated beef/chicken. Stir until brown and cook./ Perapkan daging dengan semua bahan tumbuk dan rempah. Biarkan sebentar. Tumiskan bawang besar dan masukkan bahan perap dan ubi kentang, carrot masak hingga daging dan ubi empuk, Masukkan kacang peas dan padamkan api.

To assemble

  1. Sandwich the bread with the filling. Seal edges with cornstarch mixture/ Sandwish roti dengan inti./ Pastikan tepi roti di gamkan dengan bancuhan tepung jagung dan letak sebelah.
  2. Break eggs into a wide shallow bowl, beat lightly with fork, Stir in salts, pepper and milk./ Pecahkan telur ke dalam mangkok yang sederhana dalam. Masukkan garam, lada sulah dan susu. Letak sebelah.
  3. Over medium low heat griddle or skillet coated with a thin layer of butter./Panaskan mentega ke dalam kuali.
  4. Soak bread in the eggs mixture and then carefully turn to coat the other side. Coat one at a ti, heating slowly./ Celupkan roti ke dalam adunan telur tadi, lakukan untuk kedua belah.
  5. Transfer bread to skillet, heating slowly until bottom is golden brown. Turn and brown the other side./Goreng kekuningan di atas api sederhana padamkan api dan toskan.

Roti daging ini adalah variasi dari French Toast. Intinya boleh dibuat mengikut selera masing-masing. Cara membuat mudah dan merupakan sajian yang mengenyangkan.
