SAMBAL PETAI UDANG


This is an Indonesian version of Sambal Petai Udang, in my earlier entry I did made a post on Sambal Petai Udang the Malaysian version. The different between both is the gravy, the Malaysian version is more gravy then the Indonesia version. Again it all depends on one's preference.

INGREDIENTS
1 fresh petai / 1 cawan petai yang dikupas
300 gm shrimps shelled and divine / 300 gr udang, kupas,
2 onion slice 2hinly / 1 bawang besar dihirishalus
2 bay leavess / 2 lbr daun salam
2 cm galangal  crushed/ 2 cm lengkuas, memarkan
1 lemongrass - crushed/ 1 btg serai, memarkan
Salts and sugar to taste / gula dan garam secukup rasa.
1/2 cup water / 1/2 cawan air
1 ladle oil / 1 senduk minyak
For the paste /Bumbu halus:
1o red fresh chilies / 10 bh cabai merah, buang bijinya
2 cloves garlic / 2 ulas bawang putih
3 cm turmeric root /3 cm kunyit
2 candlenut / 2 biji buah keras
 
Blend all into wet paste and set aside / Blend semua menjadi pes basah dan letak sebelah

PREPARATIONS

  1. Heat up oil and saute onion till soft . Add in wet paste, bay leave galangal adn lemongras. Mix well / Panaskan minyak, tumis bawang merah iris hingga layu, masukkan bumbu halus, daun salam, lengkuas dan serai, aduk rata.
    Add in shrimps, petai, salts and sugar to taste. cook until done/Masukkan udang, petai, gula pasir, garam dan
  2. masak hingga udang dan petai masak.

Masakan udang petai ala Indonesia ini agak kering jika dibandingkan dengan sambal tumis petai. Cili yang digunakan ialah cili fresh dan resipi ini juga dimasukkan lengkuas dan serai. Sedap bagi yang suka tidak berkuah. Boleh la cuba buat lunch tengah hari ni !!!!!!

Fav kak cek and mr hubby....kalau kak cek masak petai yang lebih dari udang ke atau ikan bilis...best n sedapnya....:)
