GOOD MORNING MALAYSIA - TODAY BREAKFAST MENU / BEEF CURRY PUFF / KARIPAP DAGING



Good Morning Malaysia and Asalamualikum, today is Saturday and our breakfast for this morning is Beef Curry Puff the Malay style. This snack is popular in Malaysia and Singapore and more often a popular savory snack serves in functions, meeting and party. The basic of this snack is the dough and the fillings. You can use any fillings, beef, chicken, sardine and vegetables. For this morning breakfast I used beef fillings and normally if I used beef I'll shaped the curry puff round. The normal and standard shape is moon shape. A good  curry puff lies on the crispy dough and the delectable fillings.


For  dough

  • 4 cups plain flour / 4 cawan tepung gandum
  • 3/4 cup  water, mixed with
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt/ 3/4 cawan air dicampur dengan 1/2 sdt garam
  • 3 tbsp margarine / 3 sdb margerine 
1 tbsp cooking oil / 1 sdb minyak masak

For the Fillings

2 large potatoes cut into small cubes / 2 biji kentang besar potong dadu kecil-kecil

200 gm beef chopped / 200 gm daging lembu dicincang halus
2 onions chopped / 2 biji bawang besar dicincang halus
1 carrot diced / 1 batang lobak merah dipotong dadu kecil-kecil
  • 2 stalks green onion chopped / 2 tangkai daun bawang dihiris halus
  • 2 tbsp oil / 2 sdb minyak
  • 1 cup water or stock / 1 cawan air atau stok
  • Sufficient oil for deep frying / minyak secukupnya untuk menggoreng


For Grinding/Blend

1 onion / 1 bawang besar
3 cloves garlic / 3 ulas bawang putih
1" ginger / 1" halia
2 tbsp kurma powder / 2 sdb serbuk kurma

Blend all ingredients to form wet paste/Blend semua bahan menjadi pes basah.

Heat up 2 tbsp oil, saute chopped onions till soft. Add blended ingredients. Fry till fragrants, add chopped beef, 1 cup of water and potatoes. Add salts and sugar to taste. Cook until potatoes and beef tender. Add in diced carrots. Constantly stirr until all ingredients coated well. Finally add in chopped green onions. Off heat and leave the fillings to cool / Panaskan minyak, tumis bawang besar yang dicincang halus tadi. Tumis sehingga bawang layu dan naik baunya. Masukkan bahan yang dikisar. Masak sehingga garing, masukkan 1 cawan air, daging dan kentang. Gaul rata. Masukkan garam dan gula secukup rasa. Masak sehingga kentang dan daging empuk. Masukkan lobak merah dan terus kacau sehingga semua bahan sebati. Akhir sekali masukkan daun bawang yang dihiris halus. Padamkan api dan sejukkan inti ini.



  1. To make WATER DOUGH
          Place flour in a
          mixing
          bowl.
  1. Melt margarine with 1 tbsp cooking oil

  2. Pour into flour. Mix well.

  3. Add water

  4. Knead into a smooth dough and leave aside to rest for 10 minutes.

  5. Flatten the dough using a rolling pin to shape a thin circle.

  6. Use cookies cutter and cut dough into small circle.

  7. Add filling and seal the sides. 














    • Pinch the edges to form a scallop
    • design or any design 

    • Deep fry puffs in medium hot oil.

Asalamualaikum dan Selamat Pagi semua, menu sarapan pagi ini simple aje, sebab tengah hari ini cadang nak masak Nasi Bokhari, rempah beli dari Johor baru ini. Karipap inti daging ini atau tembosa panggilan orang selatan biasanya dibuat buat. Selalunya kalau saya buat karipap saya akan sejuk bekukan sedikit untuk kegunaan kemudian, senang gitu kalau ada tetamu emergency bolehlah digoreng. Ok SELAMAT BERSARAPAN.
