It's Christmas today, a public holiday, I have a lot of housekeeping to catch up. It's one of those lazy day again, anyhow, I have to clear all the stocks and start to reorganize everything back. My taste bud had been vining for rava kesari and I planned to make it today but then again the timing wasn't right so I switched plan and made a simple dish today. Egg curry and Fried Anchovies. My daughter Myra had been requesting for this dish for quite sometimes. It's her favorite. Really simple and easy to make menu.

Fried Anchovies/Ikan Bilis Goreng |
INGREDIENTS
7 hardboiled eggs / 7 biji telur rebus
5 potatoes cut into 4 / 4 biji ubi kentang potong 4
3 green chilies sliced into 2 / 3 cili hijau belah dua
1 onion sliced thinly / 1 biji bawang besar mayang halus
2 strand curry leaves / 2 tangkai daun kari
3 packet Baba's Meat Curry Powder / 3 paket serbuk kari daging Baba's
1 cup thick coconut milk / 1 cawan santan pekat
3 cups thin coconut milk / 3 cawan santan cair
3/4 cup cooking oil / 3/4 cawan minyak masak
2 cup water / 2 cawan air
2 fresh tomato cut into 4 / 4 biji buah tomato belah 4
7 tbsp tamarind juice / 7 sdb air asam jawa
salts and sugar to taste/garam dan gula secukup rasa
Blended Ingredients
2 onion/ 2 biji bawang besar
5 cloves garlic/ 5 ulas bawang putih
1" ginger / 1" halia
Blend all ingredients and mix well with curry powder and leave aside./Blend semua bahan dan bancuh bersama rempah kari. Letak sebelah.
PREPARATIONS
- Heat up oil, saute sliced onion, curry leaves and screwpine leave until fragrant./ Panaskan minyak dan tumiskan bawang besar, masukkan daun kari dan daun pandan dan biarkan sehingga naik baunya.
- Add in blended ingredients and curry powder. Continue simmer until brown./ Masukan rempah kari dan bahan blended tadi dan terus tumis sehingga kekuning-kuningan.
- Add in 2 cups of water and potatoes.Cook until potatoes are done. / Masukkan santan cair, air asam jawa dan garam, gula secukup rasa.s.Masukkan 2 cawan air dan ubi kentang dan masak sehingga ubi empuk.
- Add in Thin santan, tamarind juice and salts and sugar to taste. Simmer for another 15 minutes. Add in thick santan and the half boiled egg. Cook under low heat for another 15 minutes. Finally add in green chilies and fresh tomatoes. Ready to serve./ Masukkan santan pekat, asam jawa, garam dan gula secukup rasa. Didihkan atas api kecil sehingga pekat dan naik minyak. Akhir sekali masukkan telur, cili hijau dan tomato. Padamkan api dan sedia dihidang.

Cuti Kristmas hari ini, juga merupakan hari-hari yang malas dalam hidup saya, tetapi memandangkan inilah masanya untuk mengemas maka kena gerakkan juga mental untuk mengemas. Sebenarnya tekak ni teringin sangat nak makan rava kesari, kuih suji India, awalnya rancang nak buat masa cuti Kristmas ni tetapi nampaknya masanya tidak sesuai, mungkin hujung minggu depan saya buat. Untuk hari ini saya buat menu simple kegemaran anak saya Myra - Kari Telur dan Ikan Bilis Goreng. Mudah aje tapi yang penting menyelerakan. Menu ini lebih enak kalau dapat buat sambal tumis udang petai, tapi tak apala ikan bilis goreng pun Not that bad. So inilah dia menu hujung minggu kami sekeluarga minggu ini.
