This is my first breakfast N3 after almost two month break for Ramadan and Swayal Fasting.
You know what I missed most????....NASI LEMAK and pancakes. My goodness for almost 2 month I have not touch. these two Malaysian breakfast.
I'm off today up till the week end..so masak-masak time again..there's so many Raya left over ingredients that I need to clear...I plan a complete housekeeping session over the weekend and before I do so there be some baking project going on soon.
So this morning breakfast I made Nasi Lemak and my daughter's favorite Yogurt Pancake. Today's Nasi lemak was quite different from my previous entry. I added some fenugreek in the nasi lemak to give a hints of unique aroma in the rice.
I got this idea during my two weeks stayed in Madinah. A Malaysia Chef in the hotel made their Nasi Lemak with fenugreek.
My goodness the aroma was wonderful and the Nasi lemak taste slightly like Trader Rice aka Nasi Dagang. I LIKE.....

For those of you who only heard this fenugreek for the first time here's the definition from Wikipedia
Fenugreek ( /ˈfɛnjʉɡriːk/; Trigonella foenum-graecum) is a plant in the family Fabaceae. Fenugreek is used both as a herb (the leaves) and as a spice(the seed, often called methi in Urdu/Hindi). The leaves and sprouts are also eaten as vegetables. The plant is cultivated worldwide as a semi-arid crop and is a common ingredient in many curries.
I am not going to write the recipe here, you can go my pervious entry on Nasi Lemak and for every 4-5 cups of rice add in 1/2 tsp of fenufreek. You can steam or cook your nasi lemak as usual. Don't forget to add some slice of ginger and screwpine leaf. Don't put to much the aroma was so strong play around between 1/2 - 1 tsp no matter how much you cook the rice. It's wonderful and ENJOY your breakfast
