Yesterday was Malaysia Day and a Public Holiday for all of us in Malaysia. It's a long week end holiday plus Saturday and Sunday. I though of spending the week end doing my housekeeping but my three children arrived home on Thursday night for their week end holiday. Just three days ago they left home to resume their sturdy and now they are backed again. So housekeeping on hold!!! and I'm back in the kitchen preparing their favorites again.
Some context on Malaysia Day by Wikipedia:-
Malaysia Day is held on September 16 every year to commemorate the establishment of the Malaysian federation on the same date in 1963. It marked the joining together of Malaya, North Borneo, Sarawak, and Singapore to form Malaysia. The formation of the new federation was planned to occur on June 1, 1963, but was later postponed to August 31, 1963, in order to coincide with the sixth Hari Merdeka. Several issues related to the Indonesian and the Filipinoobjection to the formation of Malaysia delayed the declaration to September 16 of the same year. The postponement was also done to allow the United Nations team time to conduct referendums in North Borneo (now Sabah) and Sarawak regarding the two states participation in a new federation.[1]
The formation of Malaysia was made possible through the introduction of the Malaysia Bill to the Malayan Parliament on July 9, 1963, and consent from theYang di-Pertuan Agong on August 29, 1963.[1]
Prior to the formation of Malaysia, Sarawak gained its independence on July 22, 1963, while Singapore and North Borneo (which was renamed Sabah) unilaterally declared independence from the United Kingdom on August 31, 1963, thus coinciding with the sixth anniversary of the Malayan independence.
Beginning year 2010, September 16 is a federal public holiday.
OK back to the kitchen... the moment my son stepped in the house, the first word uttered from his mouth, what's for breakfast tomorrow. My goodness!!! He told me that he haven't had enough with the Compressed Rice and Rendang during the EID MUBARAK and asked whether there's any chances for me to make it again. Well if that is what your children ask for.. then definitely you can't say NO....I still have the instant compressed rice and straight away cooked it. It took 1-2 hours to cook the compressed rice and it took more then 6 hours to cool it before you cut. Just ngam...ngam... for breakfast. The next morning I just prepared the Chicken Rendang their favorite...so there goes our breakfast, lunch and dinner...
I have made and entry on this before and for recipe please refer to my previous entry. Wishing all Malaysian - SELAMAT HARI MALAYSIA. Be proud of your wonderful country and always be thankful.

Cadangnya hujung minggu ni hendak beristirehat dan mengemas rumah. Rumah betul-betul macam kapal pecah tapi tup...tup... ketiga-tiga anak saya yang baru pulang ke KL, datang balik ke rumah..katanya bosan tiga hari cuti tak tahu hendak buat apa. Jadi plan untuk mengemas rumah terpaksa ditundalah... Kalau udah ramai-ramai berkumpul sudah tentulah...projek makan tak henti-henti. Pulak tu sesampai aje dia orang kat umah, anak lelaki saya udah bertanya apa menu sarapan pagi....mak ai..... nampaknya memang no rest la nampaknya...udahlah tu katanya tak puas makan nasi impit rendang ayam raya hari tu, minta kalau boleh buat ulang tayang.
