TAUCHO FRIED CRAB / KETAM GORENG TAUCHO.



There are two team in the house when come to crabs..one will go for dried curry crab and one will go for taucho crab. This is my favourite. I love this...simple yet satisfying. Serve with steam rice and they made perfect for lunch or dinner menu.

Taucho Crab

1 kg crab- clean and cut into 2
3 tbsp taucho washed and drain
1 sprig of coriander (chopped for garnishing only)
1 tablespoon of sugar
2 tablespoons of cooking oil
1/4 cup of water
1 onion thinly slice
2 red chilies thinly slice
2 sprig curry leaves
5 cloves garlic – pounded
2” garlic pounded
3 tbsp oil
1 tbsp  turmeric powder
Clean the crab and chop it into pieces. Rub with turmeric powder and deep fried till golden brown.
Pound the spice garlic and ginger with a mortar and pestle or grind them using a food processor. Make sure that the spice paste is finely blended or pounded.

Heat up your wok and add cooking oil.
Stir fry the spice paste until fragant and spicy.
Add the taucho, sugar and 1/4 cup of water and do a quick stir. Cover the wok with its cover for 3 minutes.
Add the red chilies, onions and curry leaf crab and stir well.
Continue stirring for about 2 minutes until well coated.
Dish up, garnish with chopped scallions and serve hot.
Di  rumah biasanya kalau pasal ketam ini selalunya akan ada dua team dan selalunya akan gaduh dulu nak masak apa...anak-anak suka ketam kalau masak kari kering dan saya pula lebih gemar Chinese style goreng dengan Taucho. Biasanya saya akan buat dua-dua sekali hari ini masak kari kering dan esoknya masak taucho. masa bulan tengah penuh sedap beli ketam...kata orang tua-tua ketam mempunyai banyak isi masa bulan penuh..jadi saya angkut dan buat dua jenis masakan ini. Jika anda berhajat memasak ketam cara ini pastikan anda basuh taucho terlebih dahulu bagi membuat asinya. dan kalau boleh jangan letakkan garam.kerana taucho sudah cukup masin. Sedap makan bersama nasi panas dan sungguh menyelerakan.

Kat rumah every week mesti ada menu ketam sampai tak tau nak masak apa...

bestnya ketam akak tu.. ;) lama cikwan tak makan macam tu..kalau biasa ketam makan sikit je sebab susah nak dapat isi..

kak paty nak tumpang makan sebab kat umah ni kalau masak sotong dan ketam..anak dara gatal 1 badan..kempunan kita dibuatnya..
