RAMADAN 17 IFTAR MENU - TOMATO BEEF STEW WITH TOAST,VANILLA BANANA PUDDING AND HONEY DEW DRINKS

Tomato Beef Stew



It's 17 Ramadan, 17 days of fasting, well I'm  HOME ALONE, I  had my "buka puasa" alone today. My children have their "buka puasa" with friends outside. I made beef stew ate with toasted french loaf. It's been a while I haven't made beef stew...OMG really satisfying. Would be much better if I could have Naan Bread. As for dessert I made Vanilla Banana Pudding a custard like pudding with banana. Drink of the day was Honey Dew Drinks

Ingredients

  • 1 kg cubed beef stew meat / 1 kg daging lembu dipotong kecil
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour / 1/2 cawan tepung
  • 3 tablespoons margarine / 3 sdb margerine atau mentega
  • 2 onion, chopped / 2 biji bawang besar dipotong dadu
  • 10 baby carrots, / 10 biji baby carrots
  • 2 potatoes quartered / 2 biji ubi kentang dibelah 4
  • 1/2 cup button mushroom /1/2 cawan cendawan butang
  • 3 stalks celery, sliced / 3 batang celery potong menyerong
  • 5 clove garlic, minced / 5 ulas bawang putih dicincang
  • 2 bay leaves / 2 helai daun salam
  • 1 teaspoon salt / 1 sdt garam
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar / 1 sdt garam
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper / 1/2 sdt lada hitam kisar
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika / 1/2 sdt serbuk paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves / 1/2 sdt serbuk cengkih
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice / 1sdb jus lemon
  • 1 cup Heinz tomato soup / 1 cawan heinz tomato soup
  • pinch of beef cube / secubit cube pati daging
  • 4 cups water/ 4 cawan air

Directions

  1. Dredge beef cubes in flour until evenly coated.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet, and cook coated beef cubes until evenly browned.
  3. Transfer beef to slow cooker and add onions, carrots, celery, garlic, bay leaves, salt, sugar, pepper, paprika, cloves, lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce. Pour in water , tomato soup and stir.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW 10 to 12 hours or on HIGH 5 to 6 hours. 
  5. Finally add in mushroom. Serve hot!!

HOME ALONE.....ha..ha... bukan movie tu tapi saya hari ini buka puasa sendirian. Anak-anak cuti sekolah semua buka puasa dengan kekawan di luar. Jadi hari ini makan roti aje, saya buat stew daging makan dengan roti Perancis bakar. Cukup mengenyangkan. Lama sudah tidak buat stew ini terasa teringin pula. Masaknya lebih kurang macam masak sup aje, cuma daging ditumis bersama tepung untuk memekat stew. Stew sedap masak sama ada pakai slow cooker atau pressure cooker kerana daging dalam stew mesti benar-benar empuk.

Seperti sup saya masukkan baby carrot, kentang dan celery. Boleh juga gunakan 2 sdb rempah soup kalau suka. Untuk resipi ini saya masukkan 1 cawan tomato soup untuk menambahkan kemanisan pada stew. Mantap kalau digandingkan dengan sebarang jenis roti. Jangan lupa taburkan bawang goreng dan daun bawang daun sup semasa menghidangnya.

Untuk pencuci mulut pula saya sediakan vanilla banana pudding... pudding ini mudah main kacau aje atas api. Minuman pula saya blend aje honey dew sayang tenguk buah tu tergolek-golek di dapur. Alhamdulillah ringkas, mudah dan mengenyangkan menu berbuka hari ini - AMIN.
