AMERICAN CHOCOLATE CAKE


Chocolate cake is always a hit at home....I've tried many recipe and this is a good one..easy to prepare and absolutely delectable..

Ingredients
For the cake
225 g plain flour / 225 tepung
350g caster sugar / 35o g gula caster
85g cocoa powder / 85 g serbuk koko
1½ tsp baking powder / 1 1/2 sdt baking powder
1½ tsp bicarbonate of soda / 1 1/2 sdt baking soda
2 free-range eggs / 2 biji telur
250ml  milk / 250 ml susu
125ml/ vegetable oil / 125 ml minyak sayur saya guna mazola
2 tsp vanilla extract / 2 sdt esen vanilla
250ml boiling water / 250 ml air panas

For the chocolate icing
200g plain chocolate
200ml double cream

Preparation method
  1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4. Grease and line two 20cm/8in sandwich tins.
  2. Technique: Greasing and lining cake tins / Panaskan ketuhar pada 180 C dan oleskan loyangpembakar 8" dengan butter. Buat dua
  3. For the cake, place all of the cake ingredients, except the boiling water, into a large mixing bowl. Using a wooden spoon, or electric whisk, beat the mixture until smooth and well combined./ Masukkan semua bahan kecuali air panas dalam mangkuk yang besar. Guna senduk kayu atau electric mixer kacau sehingga rata dan lincin dan sebati
  4. Add the boiling water to the mixture, a little at a time, until smooth. (The cake mixture will now be very liquid.)/ Masukkan air panas sedikit demi sedikit sehingga lincin. Adunan akan menjadi cair,
  5. Divide the cake batter between the sandwich tins and bake in the oven for 25-35 minutes, or until the top is firm to the touch and a skewer inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean./ Bahagi adunan kepada dua dan bakar selama 25-35 minit
  6. Remove the cakes from the oven and allow to cool completely, still in their tins, before icing./ Keluarkan kek dari oven dan biarkan sejuk. 


For the chocolate icing, 
Heat the chocolate and cream in a saucepan over a low heat until the chocolate melts. Remove the pan from the heat and whisk the mixture until smooth, glossy and thickened. Set aside to cool for 1-2 hours, or until thick enough to spread over the cake.

To assemble the cake 
Run a round-bladed knife around the inside of the cake tins to loosen the cakes. Carefully remove the cakes from the tins.
Technique: Removing cakes from a cake tin
Spread a little chocolate icing over the top of one of the chocolate cakes, then carefully top with the other cake.
Transfer the cake to a serving plate and ice the cake all over with the chocolate icing, using a palette knife.


Chocolate cake memang selalu menjadi pilihan di rumah...letak aje sekejap aje lesap. Saya telah cuba banyak resipi..nama aje orang kata "the best"  saya pasti try...Resipi ini saya ambil dari BBC Com...mudah menyediakan dan cukup sedap...peminat chocolate cake pasti mengemarinya....selamat mencuba.
