MASAK LOMAK PUCUK PAKU KERANG



A Malaysia favourite especially among the Malays..fern shoot cook in coconut gravy..very delicious...



Masak Lomak Pucuk Paku dan Kerang

600gm cleaned wild fern shoots
1-1/2 cups water
1 cup thickcoconut milk
500 g cockles – cook and drain the water
salt to taste

Pounded paste :
9 shallots
25 bird eyes chillies
2” turmeric roots
1 turmeric leaf thinly slice

Method :
Preheat frying pan with enough cooking oil.
Add in pounded ingredients and saute untill fragrant
Add in water and salt, bring to boil.
Place in the clean fern shoots and cook for about 2 mins.
Finally, add in coconut milk and cook for another 2 mins.
Add in the cook cockles and turmeric leaf
Off the heat, once the fern shoots became tender.
Saya mula memasak cara ini apabila saya berkunjung ke rumah kawan...memang menyelerakan..biasanya saya masak sayur pucuk paku ini begitu aje..tak pernah terlintas untuk masaukkan kerang sekali..tetapi di sini di Ipoh begitulah cara memasaknya..masak lemak dimasak bersama kerang atau siput belitong...sedap makan dengan nasi panas dan sambal belacan.
