A quick run on this butter cake. There are a few variations of butter cake but this recipe calls for a mixture of butter and margarine. It's soft, moist and to me its a winner. I baked a batch and within a few minutes its gone..must be good that the children cleared it all. I used a loaf pan and have some extras that baked in a small round mold. So it's best you use the round 9" mold.
So here's the recipe.
BUTTER CAKE
Ingredient A
150 g butter
100 g
margarine
200 g caster
sugar
Ingredient B
4 eggs gred
A
1 tsp
vanilla essence
Ingredient C
230 g
superfine flour
2 tbsp milk
powder
½ tbsp.
baking powder
- Beat A till fluffy, add in B oC mix well till well incorporated
- Pour batter into a “9” round cake tin and bake at 180 C in a preheated oven for 50-60 minutes. (insert toothpick into the middle of cake. If it comes out clean it is done.
