This is one of my favorite. Serve best with hot rice. Here is the recipe :-
INGREDIENTS
4-5 slices fish (any fish)
7-8 bird's eyes chilies
5 garlics
5 shallots
3 kaffir leave
1/2 cup white vinegar to taste
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp turmeric powder
salts and sugar
oil for frying fish.
Combine turmeric powder and salts with fish and deep fry fish till cook. Remove, drain oil and set aside.
To be blended/pounded
5 cloves garlic
1 onions
2" turmeric root
Blend all ingredients.
PREPARATION
Heat up 3 tbsp oil. Fry blended ingredients till fragrant. Add in vinegar, sugar, and salts to taste. Add 1/1 cup water. Simmer for a while. Add in fried fish, garlic, kaffir leave, bird's eyes chilies and shallot. Ready to serve.
