GOOD MORNING MALAYSIA - BREAKFAST MENU - BAKED CHEESY FRENCH TOAST


A special French toast with cheese filling, made with bread, eggs, cheese, and other ingredients. Serve with maple syrup or fruit topping. 
 
The first time I made this I followed the traditional approach of pan frying the toast but the bread soaks up olive oil like a sponge and you have to use a large amount to prevent it from sticking. 
 
Baking the bread in the oven turns out to be easier and healthier, and has the added advantage of letting you easily make several servings at once.  That said, if you are stuck for an oven then you can always pan-fry.

Ingredients:

  • 8 pieces bread,
  • 4 pieces sliced cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon Canola oil

Preparation:

Top each bread with cheese. You will have 4 "sandwiches." Beat eggs and milk in a shallow bowl until smooth. Add sandwiches to the mixture, turning several times to coat thoroughly.

Twenty minutes before you are ready to eat, spray a baking sheet with olive oil and place in the oven.  Preheat the oven to 180 C, 350 F.

Place the slices of bread onto the preheated tray and put them into the oven. Set the timer for 5 minutes (you can get on with cooking the salsa while the toast is in the oven).  After 5 minutes are up, turn the bread (a sharp fish slice is useful).  Return the bread to the oven and set the timer for another 5 minutes.

Salam dan SELAMAT PAGI SEMUA, udah breakfast, apa menu pagi ni??? Cuti sekolah ni memang kena masak banyak ya!!! Anak-anak tengah membesar ni tekak laju aje...... pagi saya breakfast om putih lagi buat french toast, tapi kali ini saya guna method bakar tidak menggoreng. Method ini lebih bagus roti tidak begitu mendap, cantik dan tidak berminyak. Saya masukkan cheese buat macam cheese sandwich, bila dibakar wah meleleh-leleh nampak cheesenya. Seperti biasa kalau roti tu sedap makan bersama butter dan jam. 

Makan panas-panas, memang menyelerakan. Kalau anak-anak dah besar-besar dan kalau dia orang nak makan panas-panas dia orang pun boleh bakar sendiri mudah aje, Rasanya menu sihat untuk keluarga. saya juga sediakan banana smoothie. Banyak pisang di rumah, kawan anta jadi selain saya buat muffin dan kek saya sedia juga smoothie pagi ini. SELAMAT BERSARAPAN dan ENJOY your breakfast!!!!!!
