Blog walking to our neighbouring friends in Indonesia..I saw a whole list of these tiny blossom steam cake. My goodness...they were so creative in designing the cake. These steam cake are known as Bolkus..literally means steam cake. I love the white and chocolate bolkus with zebra design and tried making one batch of it. So here's my bolkus cappucino ..I used cappucino to get the color. Though not 100% of what I want but I'm happy with the outcome.
Apam/ Bolkus Cappucino
2 eggs / 2 biji telur
160 g sugar / 160 g gula
1 tsp ovelette / 1 sdt ovelette
200 g flour / 200 g tepung
100 ml coconut milk /100 g santan kara
100 ml soda (sprite) /100 ml soda atau sprit
Heat up steamer at high
Sift
together and set aside.
Whisk the
egg, sugar and 1/2 of the ovelette until soft peak (3 mins).
Add in the balance ovelette, beat till batter fluffy and thick (7mins).
Add in
sifted flour , coconut milk alternating with the sprite. Stir well.
Take 1/3 of the batter and add in cappucino or cocoa powder (mix with 1 tbsp hot water)
Scoop the
batter into individual cup cake case and steam for 10mins.

Saya cukup berkenan dengan design zebra yang berbelang-belang putih dan cokolate....ambil resipi cuba buat tetapi tak dapat zebranya walaupun diajar cara untuk mewarnakanya.
Apa pun saya tetap berpuas hati...benda-benda macam ini kena practice...baru hasilnya hebat. Rasa bolkus ini kebanyakkanya sama aje...macam apam mekar..cuba ada setengah resipi menggunakan santan ada tidak ada yang menggunakan soda dan ada yang menggunakan double action baking powder.

Aslmkum K.Paty. Kembang molek apam kukus k.Paty. sy suka apam yg baru keluar dr kukus...panas2 dimkn...lembut je.belum pernah buat apam guna air sprite.sedapnya nampak calzone kat bawah tu.dr calzone dah jadi roti sosej...budak2 suka ni kalau roti inti sosej.
