This is a typical Malay dessert, an all time favorite especially among the oldies. Sira Pisang literally means banana cook in syrup. This simple dessert with hints of spices is a popular dessert for breaking fast during Ramadan.Small, sweet-tasting pisang lemak manis or pisang mas are ideal for this recipe.Try this, it's simple and delicious.

4 bananas , halved (I used pisang abu )/ 4 biji pisang dibelah dua

1/2 cup of sugar (if your not a sweet tooth, lessen the sugar amount)/1/2 cawan gula
cloves/ 5  bunga cengkih,
1 cinnamon stick, / 1 batang kulit kayu manis
5 cardamon pod / 5 biji buah pelaga
1 piece of pandan leaf./ 1 helai daun pandan

Method:-

In a pot, arrange the bananas and then add in the water ,sugar and cloves.- cover the pot and cook under low heat until the syrup is concentrated./ Dalam periuk masukkan air dan gula. Masukkan daun pandan kulit kayu manis, buah pelaga dan cengkih. Masukkan juga pisang.

Once the bananas are cooked (if it is soft, that means it is cooked through), turn off the heat and let it cool before serving it. Sira Pisang is best served cold./ Bila gula dah agak pekat dan pisang dan agak masak padamkan api, angkat dan sejukkan,
