DRIED CURRY CRAB / KETAM MASAK KARI KERING



Simple yet satisfying dish for lunch or dinner. This is my children's favourite, dried curry crab. Process and method of cooking is the same as the Chili crab except chili is substitute with curry powder. Tasty and delicious.

Dried Curry Crab - Source Patyskitchen.

1 kg crab clean and cut into half
1 sprig of curry leaf
2 packet Baba’s curry powder
1 ginger*
9 shallots*
5 gloves garlic*
2 tablespoons of cooking oil
1/4 cup of water

Method:

  1. Clean the crab and chop it into pieces.
  2. Pound the ingredients marked * with a mortar and pestle or grind them using a food processor. Make sure that the spice paste is finely blended or pounded.
  3. Heat up your wok and add cooking oil.
  4. Stir fry the pounded ingredient and curry powder until fragrant and spicy.
  5. Add the curry leaf.
  6. Add the crab and 1/4 cup of water and do a quick stir. Cover the wok with its cover for 3 minutes.
  7. Add in sugar, a little salt to taste and continue stirring for about 2 minutes or until all crab pieces turned red and paste dried.
  8. Dish up, garnish with chopped scallions and serve hot.

Ketam masak kari kering ini adalah masakan ketam yang tidak berkuah. Sama seperti ketam masak cili, masakan ini hanya menggantikan cili dengan serbuk kari. Cukup menyelerakan. Mudah dan ringkas. menu ini biasanya dijual di restuarant nasi kandar.
