This is what happened when I'm bored!!!. I made a few variations of onde-onde and named it 1 Malaysia Onde-onde. It's actually a metaphor a reflection of Malaysia with different races leaving peacefully under 1 Malaysia. I made different color of Onde-onde from different ingredients, the white onde-onde is from sweet potato, the yellow is from pumpkin, the purple is from yam and of course the original onde-onde from screwpine leaf. Each has different taste and it's colorful and most importantly it taste good.

INGREDIENTS

- 150g pumpkin/ sweet potato/ yam, cubed, steamed until soft and mashed / 150 g labu/keledek/keladi, potong dadu kukus dan lecek.
- 200g glutinous rice flour / 200 g tepung pulut
- A pinch of salt / secubit garam
- 100ml water / 100 ml air
- 1 tbsp tapioca flour / 1 sdb tepung ubi
- 100g grated gula Melaka / 100 g gula Melaka
- 1 tbsp sugar / 1 sdb gula
- 275g grated coconut (white part only), steamed for 10 to 15 minutes then left to cool; this helps it to keep better /250 gm kelapa parut putih, kukus selama 10 - 15 minit
- 1/4 tsp salts / 1/4 sdt garam
- PREPARATION
- Bring water, salt and tapioca flour to a boil over low heat. Keep stirring until almost transparent./Masak air, garam dan tepung ubi sehingga bertukar warna.

Pour the mixture immediately into the glutinous rice flour in a large mixing bowl. Stir till it is well absorbed. Add the mashed pumpkin and mix well to form a dough. (If dough is too soft, add a little more glutinous rice flour.)/ Tuangkan ke dalam adunan tepung dan kacau sehingga sebati. Masukkan adunan labu dan kacau rata untuk membentuk dough.
Divide dough into two and roll each portion into a longish roll. Cut into small pieces./ Bahagi adunan kepada beberapa bebola kecil.
Bring water to a boil in a deep saucepan. Roll the pieces of dough into small balls with your palms. Then flatten the ball and put a bit of the sugar mixture in the centre. / Didihkan air dalam periuk. Sementara air mendidih buat bebola dan isikan inti gula melaka ke dalam.
Pinch to seal, then roll again into spheres. Drop the balls into boiling water until they float to the surface (about two to two and a half minutes)./ Masukkan bebola yang sudah siap ke dalam air mendidih sehingga bebola itu timbul dipermukaan.
Remove the cooked balls with a tea strainer. Roll in grated coconut to coat./ Angkat bebola dengan menggunakan tapisan dan golekkan bebola ke dalam kelapa parut.

Onde-Onde 1 Malaysia aka Onda-Onde Tiga Rasa adalah onde-onde yang melambang Malaysia yang mempunyai berbagai bangsa. Onde-Onde ini mempunyai 3 rasa yang berlainan kerana saya menggunakan tiga bahan yang berlainan iaitu labu, keledek dan keladi. setiap onde-onde mempunyai rasa yang berlainan dan warna yang berlainan. Memang sedap dan menarik dibuat hidangan petang mahupun majlis.
